DELAND, Fla. -- Day two of the Daytona Beach Thunder training camp, presented by Wise Guys Watering Hole, saw the battle for the starting quarterback position take shape.
Bo Bartik, who led the Rome Renegades to consecutive championship games, will be challenged by Neal Sharma, who started the first game for the Daytona Beach Hawgs in 2005 and former Bethune-Cookman standout Lawrence McCloud.
"Bo and Neal are the front-runners,'' said Thunder coach Leon Bright. "Lawrence made some excellent throws, but he has a way to go."
Wednesday's practice at 6:30 p.m. at Sperling Sports Complex will be the first full-contact day.
"We made strides today," Bright said. "There's a lot of speed and talent out there, we're going to have a hard time getting down to 20 players.
