ThunderBirds Final Open Tryout To Be Held on Saturday, March 1, 2008
2008-02-25 08:01:52

“I am looking for men who know the game, are teachable and have great character,” Coach Walls said.  “In this society, we need to find men with great character and who want to be role models on and off the field. If I can find 25 men like that, it will be a wonderful season.”

He is looking for players with heart and passion that will be positive, make the most of this opportunity, and rise to the occasion. “Players in the AFL and af2 are just better athletes,” Coach Walls stated.  “Without NFL Europe there is more talent in Arena Football because it is becoming tougher to get into the NFL.”

The ThunderBirds will begin their 2008 season on the road at the Lexington Horsemen in Kentucky on Saturday, March 29th at 7:00 pm.  The ThunderBirds’ home opener will be on Sunday, April 6th at 3:00 pm against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center.

For more information on the tryouts please contact Coach James, Director of Player Personnel at (407) 925-3592 or the Daytona Beach ThunderBirds’ Public Relations Department at (407) 805-8855.
