disappointed the crowd that showed up to watch the ThunderBirds first home game under new Head Coach Gary Compton.

Despite the loss, Coach Compton was very upbeat after the game and is optimistic about the future of his team.  “After three days of work I couldn’t be more proud of how the players responded.”  When asked how he plans to get ready for the next game Coach Compton explained “we only had time to install a very basic offense.  We will have more time to implement more of my offense before our next game.”

Many players were also pleased with how the team performed after a tough week in which they had to deal with the hiring of a new Head Coach.  “I am very happy” said Dominic Lee, a linebacker from the University of Alabama who is playing his first season of af2.  “I can’t complain about how coach prepared us.  He put us in a position to win and the players played hard for him.”

When asked how he felt after the game, WR Toris Rutledge smiled and echoed a sentiment shared by many of his teammates.  “I am feeling pretty good right now.  We had a great game considering our circumstances and the fact that we only had three days of practice.”

The ThunderBirds will be back in action on Sunday, April 20 at 3:00 pm in the Ocean Center when the Florida Firecats come to town for a heated in-state match up.
