COMPETITION STILL STRONG FOR THUNDER QB JOB

DELAND, Fla. – As the Daytona Beach Thunder shapes up for Sunday’s opener with the Augusta Spartans, it is the quarterback role that has attracted the most attention from the coaches.

Neil Sharma, and Bo Bartik, are the front-runners in the chase, but Lawrence McCloud is a viable alternative at the third spot, and the former Bethune-Cookman signal caller looks to be a top receiver.

Sharma came to the Thunder as a large underdog for the lead role, but has slowly proved himself behind center. Bright has yet to state a clear starter, but time is dwindling quickly.

"They are still neck and neck, it’s going to be a close one," said Bright when asked who would be the starter.
