DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --
A new week, a new look for the Thunder. Just two weeks out of the gates and the Thunder look like a completely different team, whether that works on their behalf or against them will be settled against the Columbus Lions.

Last time out, the Thunder were ousted by the August Spartans, 49-47, but the Thunder have added three players from last year’s squad and released backup QB Neil Sharma.

The Thunder hope that the adjustments will be enough to complete this team and get their first win.

Bo Bartik led the way against the Spartans after some quarterback controversy between Neil Sharma and himself during the pre-season. After Bartik racked up 199 yards in the Thunder’s opener, Sharma was immediately released to the Spartans shortly after that performance.

In lieu of Sharma’s departure, Lawrence McCloud has been reactivated after sitting out of the opener against the Spartans. DL Aaron Sheppard was also activated.

On top of that, the ‘Thunder of old’ is beginning to resurface after starting the season with only three returning starters that number has doubled to six.

“We’re really glad to have some more veteran players back on the roster, they are what holds the team down.” coach Leon Bright said.
Levar Sims at middle linebacker is a prime example of veteran strength. In the opener, Sims recorded five tackles and 1.5 sacks.
