DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- To all the coaches, players and staff of the Daytona Beach Thunder, Javan Camon was more than just a teammate; he was a friend.
"He was someone who lifted spirits and "brought everyone together," said defensive lineman Todd Mitchell. "He was the type to that loved to have fun and was an all around good guy."
Mitchell also viewd Camon as "a mentor-type person who never let anybody put their heads down during rough times."
"Javan was definitely one of the players that brightened up a room," said assistant coach Chad Rhodes. "He was the type of player that was always willing to lend a helping hand, not matter what it was. He helped with everything from helping out a rookie to rolling and vacuuming the turf before game time."
Former Thunder defensive back Nick Allison, who was recently waived by the Orlando Predators, said that Camon was like a brother to him.
"Yes, this is a tragic loss but you must also think of it, not a separation but a graduation," Allison said. "Javan will be missed but never forgotten."
