NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- The Daytona Beach Thunder showed support for their community sponsors last week when they attended the awards ceremony for the Bert Fish Medical Center bowling team at New Smyrna Lanes.
The keglers won their league championship. The bowlers contacted the Thunder earlier this season and said their season was dedicated to the honor of Javan Camon, the Thunder defensive back who died in a game back in February.
"They are huge Thunder fans and great community supporters,'' said Thunder Vice-President of Operations Brad Humphrey. "Hopefully, their winning ways will carry over to us."
Coaches, players, owners and staff were present at the event and the Thunder team did a brief walk-thru practice in the parking lot.
